About Bill & Mary
Our role in Youth for Christ International (YFCI) is providing Pastoral Care for YFCI missionaries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. We are humbled and excited all at the same time. Humbled because of the responsibility, excited because of the opportunity. We try to live by a value that the Lord has pressed into our hearts over the years- "Love God and love the person in front of us." For the last 20 years, we have sat and listened to many missionaries. And together, experienced times of laughter, tears, prayer, anger, joy, fear, encouragement and discouragement. This is why we believe what we do is so important! Pastoral care is creating a supportive and encouraging relationship to allow the Holy Spirit to work in all of us. How we provide pastoral care is through praying, being on conference calls, communicating with email, and traveling to see missionaries where we are able to sit on their couch and in their home.

The missionaries we serve are faithful, creative, dedicated, diligent, and pour themselves out in their communities. But who pours into them? Who is asking them about their calling, their health, their pace, their heart, their family? This is the task to which we feel called and we need your help to be there.

More About Bill & Mary
Our story in Youth for Christ stretches for over thirty years. As a book, our chapter one would have been twelve years working directly with students. We think of these as the fun years. The youth, adults and families we were privileged to serve are some of our most treasured friends and memories. Chapter two was serving as a Director in the National leadership of Youth for Christ (YFC). Here we were responsible to recruit, develop, send out and direct missionary staff in the field. This was a time of being stretched and dependence on the Holy Spirit. It was a good and hard time and we experienced and saw the best and the worst of ministry, in ourselves, others and organizations.

Our qualification for pastoral care is not experience or the invitation by YFC. We feel compelled by a sense of calling to this work and have said,. "Yes," once again to Youth for Christ. A value that has become important to us is, "No missionary should ever feel alone." Our chapter three will be pastoral care and with a brand new level of Holy Spirit dependence and responsibility.
